I didn't realize KiCad has a spice simulator built in. Anyone used it? I could have been editing my board schematic and doing the simulation at the same time! I don't know how compatible models are with various simulators. I contacted one vendor about a problem with their spice model and they basically blew me off saying I needed to use Orcad spice. lol I guess when you've seen one s...

I have created SPICE models for simple DC motors, and I am curious if any electronics guru could point me to a SPICE model for a brush-less DC motor. I have searched on Google, but the SPICE models on various Web sites always seem to be for the simple DC motor. Thanks in advance for your help.

Could some electronics guru please shed some light on this ? I created a SPICE model for a simple brushed DC motor. It is complete as it includes the models for torque and inertia. When excited with a SPICE pulse or piece-wise linear model, the armature current, when plotted shows the upward and downward spikes, of the correct amplitude, as expected. Now when I replace the SPICE p...

Could some electronics guru here help me ? I am looking for SPICE models fpr RF HEMTs. All the HEMT SPICE models freely avialable(e.g., from Tramsphorm( are for power HEMTs, not RF HEMTs. Any hints, suggestions would be of immense help. Thanks in advance.

TI has encrypted Pspice models for many of their parts, but I can't persuade LT Spice to run the switchers I want to use. Any thoughts on that? One of my guys says he can run their Cadence sim, but I'd prefer LT. Parts are TPS54302, TPS563300, TPS562208. I'd consider paying a consultant to get them to work in LT Spice. If sim is too much hassle, we'd solder.

I'm honing my Spice modeling skills and need some suggestions of devices whose manufacturer-provided Spice model doesn't match reality very well, or has serious issues. I'll try my hand at modeling the device and post my results on these newsgroups and on the LTspice list. It would be helpful if, when you make a suggestion, you state where and how it fails to match up with claimed data sh...

Spice Model Needed... Does anyone know of a _device-level_ Spice model for a 74HC05 open-drain inverter? I could write one, but there's not a lot of accurate specification information out there. LT Spice, Dflop: I can set VHIGH = 5 and that works. But if I add TRISE = 500p then VHIGH reverts to 1 volt. And incidentally, what's the difference between Spice Line 1 and Spice Line 2? TRISE on either breaks VHIGH. Building a pseurandom bit stream generator is too much work, but it's easy to clock random junk into a flop.

I'm working on a TP4056-based 1S LIPO solar charger which includes a load sharing (aka power path) function. But I don't have a panel to test with. So I'd like to simulate the circuit in LT-Spice. But I've never used spice, LT or otherwise, so I was hoping to find an example of a solar panel equivalent circuit that I could import, then add the rest of the circuit, which is pretty simpl...

I am faced with an odd problem. The HEMT lumped element model in the paper: A Simple and Accurate Circuit Simulation Model for GaN Power HEMTs is very compact and intuitive, but the authors provide no circuit parameter values for SPICE simulation. The SPICE GaN model provided by GaN Systems at their Web site is too complicated/non-intuitive and throws lots of error messages with HSpice ...

I've recently started using LT Spice. A great free tool, with the overriding advantage of widespread use. (Unlike CircuitMaker 2000 Pro, of which I seem to be the only current user on the planet.) But LT's UI is not so good. Have there been any hacked versions that attempt improvements? For example, using the more modern rectangular resistors rather than zigzags? And I was surprised to find...

Speaking of SPICE, here's a nice little circuit: https://www.seventransistorlabs.com/Images/BakerDarlington.png I discovered the oscillator on the left, when attempting to build a Darlington transistor pair with a Baker clamp. (In practice, R10 comes from a logic voltage input, and R2 is a load, often inductive. R14 is optional, but exacerbates the oscillation, making it reproducible.)...
