Let's build an oscilloscope part 1 Many years ago a friend of mine had the idea to build an oscilloscope. As I love electronics I liked his idea, and I built 2 of them. If you want to build an oscilloscope, or just understand how an oscilloscope works then follow this series of articles, today I published the first articles. http://neutronix-ltd.co.uk/oscilloscope.html Let

Hi I'm probably not the first one to ask for a free oscilloscope. I'm from Pol= and and here oscilloscopes are rare and expensive. I'm keen to learn electr= onics and I just can't continue without an oscilloscope in my lab. I obviou= sly can't afford one. Hi all, I've started designing a 200 MSPS Oscilloscope with a 25 MHz analog bandwidth, 3Ksample/channel buffer. The oscilloscope can be connected to a PC via USB, and eventually via Ethernet and WiFi. The trigger is ( at moment) rising, falling... auto, normal. I would appreciate suggestions and or comment for possible improvement and functionality that could make this oscilloscope interes...

Hi all, a few months ago I started to design and build my own oscilloscope...and in this groups I had a lot of help in solving some problem... http://thefpproject01.blogspot.co.uk/ I'm getting so excited now... and surprise at same time... how things are getting better and better. The oscilloscope is now very useful indeed, I have added the capability to see the spectrum, and it works real...

Hi all, I think I'm going to try and treat myself to an oscilloscope this Christmas. I've managed to go without one for the last 15 years or so and, frankly, did not have a burning need or even much space for it. I do some digital design (PIC based mostly) - LED, motor controls and such and every once in a while I wish I has something to look at the signal with. So, I've looked around...

I am a hobbyist. I'd like to buy a low-cost PC-based oscilloscope. Any good ones you can recommend under $150? Preferably dual-channel. BW of upto 4-5 MHz is fine. Any experiences with the Velleman PCS100AU (though its a single channel I believe)? Thanks, Venkat

Dear Group, I can finally afford a new oscilloscope to supplement my trusty TEK 465M. My budget is around $3k. I like the newer Agilent scopes, which I have used when someone else was paying. I do mostly low frequency high-precision instruments (analog signals less than about 1 MHz). The pretty lower-end Agilent scopes are in reach, but I'm tempted to use one of these: ...

The world is getting smaller, and my O-scope probes are the same size as they were in the 1980s. A search on "miniature oscilloscope probes" got hits on stuff not much smaller than I'm using now, although my Google Fu is generally spotty. Does anyone make Really Small oscilloscope probes? Something that'll clip onto a 30-gauge wire and not rip it off of a board, or that (be still my...

I'm looking at how to design a digitizing oscilloscope. Sticking an attenuation/gain stage to a fast ADC and an FPGA is easy enough (more or less). But I'm curious about how digitizing scopes measure the interval between the trigger and the first sample. I've heard this refered to as a trigger time interpolator and several other names. The question is, how does it work and how do I build a r...
