Could some electronics gueu here clarify this a bit. Typical SPICE BJT models include the parameters RB, RC and RE wich add resistances at the respective terminals, and are small valued, e.g., 0.77 etc., Recently, I came across a reference in literature the input resistance of a transistor(under examination) is 1200.0 Uhms. Is it possible that the authors could have been referring to som...

Nobody in their right mind would sign-off a complex circuit solely on the basis of a spice simulation. But Boeing is planning on doing the equivalent for their 777X! "Specifically, Boeing is ?reducing the scope and duration of certain costly physical tests used to certify the planemaker?s new aircraft,? Reuters reported over the weekend. We're thus told that engineers work

I am new to Spice as well as LT Spice. I have input most of my circuit after spending much time looking for components. I have not run the circuit yet since I have a hole where a unijunction goes. Here's a quantizer in LT Spice: ftp://jjlarkin.lmi.net/Quantizer.jpg It wasn't hard, but the HELP is really obscure about syntax, and there is no example of a schematic with a b-source that I could find. There is a sample-and-hold schematic symbol, so one can simulate the effects of a clocked ADC or a DAC on a control loop. John Version 4 SHEET 1 880 680 WIRE 48 48 0 48 W...

Jim, Since you said you were interested in suggestions for Spice models, so here's two: SA612/SA602. There are models around, but I have no way of knowing how good they are. BF904R. If all you want to do is, say, pick resistors to get the right gain and such, you don't need an opamp model in Spice. An 'e' thing works just like an opamp but doesn't need power supplies. This one does what I want to do, using only resistor values already on my board. It's a nuisance to find a combination that works, but Spice sure beats doing this with a calculator. I find myself Spicing ...

A few more measurements this evening. ST's MDmesh II SPICE models are terrible, and their capacitance plots are characteristically wrong: www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stf19nm50n.pdf I had previously measured this, https://www.seventransistorlabs.com/Images/STP19NM50N_Cdss_Overlay.jpg which shows the capacitance tails off not quite so aggressively as the datasheet suggests. IntuitSoft has a program called Spicemod (http://www.intusoft.com/spicemod.htm#Requirements) It's a "SPICE model builder" that takes data sheet parameters and makes SPICE models -- including using subcircuits, if just a .MODEL statement isn't going to be enough. I'm skeptical. Has anyone used it? Have you had good success? Do you think that models (particularly IGBT models) that ...
