My wife got me out of bed this morning because our electric hot water tank was imitating a smoke alarm. It was also projecting a rather fat spot of red light on the wall next to it. It wasn't actually the hot water tank, but the electrically driven water valve that shuts off the cold water feed into the hot water tank if the catching tray under the tank holds more than a centimetre depth of ...

Sometimes one needs to power a circuit from one source or another. Most LDOs, or indeed most normal regs, feed current back up to the source. LDOs tend to use a PMOS pass transistor which has a parasitic diode. In the US, there is no single set of terms for the kinds of homicide. The federal government has one set, and each state has its own. They are very similar in principle, but are not identical, and may be named and worded quite differently. Most of US law evolved from English Law, except for the Louisiana Purchase states, which instead evolved from the Napoleonic Code of France. New Mexic...

Hi, Many moons ago I bought an analog multimeter, and one of its functions was to test batteries. It loaded the battery with a resistor, drawing some significant current (for three battery types) and then measuring I don't know if voltage or current (typical green-yellow-red zones). Right now it is on another city. So now comes a friend that says the battery for a DECT phone doesn't ...
