The printer has a power plug that goes into the printer. There are three female sockets recessed in the plug. I would guess the center one is ground. pin 1 to 3 is 32v dc pin 2 to 3 is 30v dc pin 1 to 2 is 2v dc A LED on the adapter is growing green. Does this seem normal? Is there a way to diagnose otherwise?

why are stepper motors so hard to turn?

I took apart an old inkjet printer and was surprised the stepper motor has such resistance to it, if it's just an iron gear rotor. What gives?

I have a HP LASER JET 1018 that the toner is running out. I see staples and the regular chains sell replacements for in excess of $100.00. That is more then what I paid for the printer $48.00. I was wondering if anybody tried any of these discount toners like this. http://www.123inkcartridges.ca/hp-toner-cartridges/Laserjet-1018.html This is only $25.00. If they have does it stil...

I have a relatively-ginormous Xerox 7750DN color laser printer, rated 12A. I bought it when I was living in a large house, where it had its own closet and its own 20A circuit; it worked great there. Now I live in an apartment, and any time it powers up, any lights on the same circuit will dim and flicker - even fluorescent ones, which I don't get, but whatever. Worse, even in its "sleep mod...

Hi, I've got an old Hp Deskjet 990Cxi which suddenly decided to print nothing. When I send a document to the printer, it behaves as before (paper is taken, cartridges move, etc.), but the resulting page is still as white as it was before printing. The problem does not come from the computer, because I tried several things. Among them, * Printing test: holding the resume button for more ...

Further cleaning up in the office found an odd cable... USB on one end, what looks to be serial on the other?? Was there such a thing. My cable collection was sort of hilarious, I don't know why I kept some things for so long... I must have tossed 20# of parallel port printer cables ;-) ...Jim Thompson -- | James E.Thompson, CTO ...

Want to buy an Arduino. Too many choices that I don't understand. Prices = all seem to be nearly the same. Arduino will be used by a small group of high school students to build a "p= ick and place" robotics arm. School has a 3D printer and a laser cutter. = We also have lots of motors and servos from VEX robotics kits. We could us= e the VEX controllers but I would like the students t...

Howdy, Folks, I just released a freeware Win XP/Vista program that generates codewheel images and prints them to any home inkjet or laser printer. With a good codewheel in hand, you can build your own optical encoder. I tried to generalize the program to provide wheels for any application. "Canned" wheel types are Unencoded (for single-track quad encoders), Unencoded with Index Track ...
