I like to design on paper.

For initial scribbling, these seem to be the best:

good feel, low ink bleed, good perforations.

I cut over to D-size as the next step. I hand it to my PCB guy to
enter into the software.

Yes I still use pencil and paper too: https://panteltje.nl/pub/raspberry_pi_datv_transmitter_circuit_diagram_IMG_3943.JPG Then take a picture of it with my Canon camera...

The image shows that the graph vertical lines do not line up with the edge of the paper.
