Hand held drills do not have sufficient cooling for continious use at high loads, and direct drive of a bike tyre from the center hub for any reasonable length of time is cleary a continious use at a very high load.

Not worried about it. My first used a lesser DeWalt drill (DCD7xx) and a 24" wheel. This is a DCD991 with a brushless motor, geared lower, and driving a 16" wheel. Also using a Flexvolt battery. The gearbox might get warm or hot, but nothing else. The orange rim is only one of two 16", 36 hole bike wheel rims I know of, and it's required. I have two, have none of the other version.
