** There are any number of good u-tube vids on the Battle of Britain and also many not so good ones. The above is one of the worst. JL makes only fair comments on it. Smug pommies are such an ungrateful bunch of shits. ...... Phil

Do try to be content with where you are and who you are. You'll be happier that way. See sig. -- I yam what I yam - Popeye

I listened to that over the weekend - there was quite a bit of interesting stuff in it, and a lot of detail that was unknown to me.

It had /one/ joke about things made in Texas. It was clearly and obviously an exaggerated and over-the-top joke to add a bit of lightness to the talk. You'd have to be seriously over-sensitive or completely humourless to view it as an insult.

Indeed they do!

What it shows is that you have an expectation that the USA will be mocked - it suggests that deep down, you think the USA deserves it. I'm not sure how else anyone could interpret that video as mocking the USA. It also shows that you don't understand British culture or how Brits communicate. Most Brits are not xenophobic or prejudiced - they will mock anyone, including themselves, equally. You really take yourself far too seriously. Lighten up a bit.
