Just finished another drill powered electric bike. This one weighs 22 pounds, half the weight of a light eBike. Being drill powered also makes it versatile and easy to service. Being drill powered might be visually incorrect, but in real life I've gotten only compliments, like from several people just a few minutes ago when out front testing it. Was trying to get it below 20 pounds but that's tough! The frame is aluminum, very light, a big weight saver. But it must have a comfortable, springy, seat, that weighs 3 pounds by itself. The front wheel rim is steel, but it would be only a tiny bit less if it were aluminum. The front fork is heavy duty, but it needs to be. The freewheel hub is a bit heavy, but good luck finding freewheel hubs (driven from outside of the fork). A springy seat is also good for relieving stress on bike parts, especially the frame. Less than 20 pounds is doable as a scooter, without a seat. Front wheel drive helps keep from breaking stuff and helps with stability, too. An in-line skating heel break is cool too, marvelous device. Works similarly. A DeWalt mud mixer would be fun, but don't need that much power. No clutch. But a clutch, especially an electric clutch, is counterproductive anyway. That would be an AMAZINGLY powerful drill powered bike, it's geared for it (0-600 RPM), direct driving a 16 or 20 inch wheel. But it would add 2+ pounds.

Front wheel drive motorcycles? I've been into motorcycles before and I've never heard of front wheel drive motorcycles. Not likely they ever "flopped". I've laid bikes down plenty... Once while winding down a road next to Lake Tahoe. Another at about 60 miles an hour, having missed the exit by just a little. Another going slowly on a downward slope while turning. And on a drizzly day, after exiting a freeway, while approaching an intersection, a long slide, laying it down just under that stopped car's bumper. One thing that can't happen with front-wheel-drive... When you ride a "Cadillac" and somebody lets you on their screaming Yamaha dirtbike, revving it and popping the clutch won't send the bike flying. With front wheel drive electric bikes, there is some issue with throttling up while turning, but that's resolved by releasing the throttle, then it freewheels. Seems no more problematic than rearwheel drive. Even if there were some issue, it's not meant for performance anyway. corvid <bl@ckb.ird> wrote:> On 6/19/22 19:44, John Doe wrote: >> Just finished another drill powered electric bike. Your shit is a joke, at best. Just so you know, that wasn't a compliment.
