Another possibility is that something in that gun barrel disintegrated and let loose with metal fragments. There are all sorts of accessory add-ons available to achieve various effects. Or it could have been something as simple as a cartridge fragmented and left bits in the barrel, in front of the chamber, to be propelled at high speed by the succeeding blank. Maybe it was something along those lines. Pointing a gun at a person in those circumstances should just feel very wrong to a reasonably sane person, and that's why it's just not done. >
Or maybe it was a bullet. -- If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end with doubts, but if he will be content to begin with doubts he shall end in certainties. Francis Bacon

You are a fucking complete and total fucking self imposed retard. Now movies kill people? You, John Larkin, are an abject idiot. Remember "Guns don't kill people, people kill people..." Well, fucktarded dumbfuck... movies don't kill people, stupid jack jawed dumbfuck comments like yours kills people. And what Movie did he "glorify violence" in? "The Hunt For Red October" You gonna cite that one? In that movie, he did exactly the opposite of what you spew, despite being at the controls of a nuclear boomer. You ain't real fucking bright, you UN-American PUTZ motherfucker.

What is extremely negligent is that Baldwin pointed a loaded gun at Hutchins and Souza. It is unknown at this time whether he pulled the trigger or if it discharged spontaneously (which is highly unlikely). Firearm safety training requires you to treat ALL guns as if they are loaded. So if someone handed me a gun and told me that it was "safe" I will check the chamber and magazine for any rounds. Baldwin should have received this training before being allowed to handle operable firearms. I would not be surprised if Baldwin is charged with negligent homicide.

It makes movies that people will pay money to watch. The American gun-manufacturing business has spent a lot of money on brain-washing the American population to the point where half the house-holds in America have a gun, which is most likely to be used by it's owner for gun suicide, with the murder of a partner being the next most likely use. The gun manufacturing business spends a lot of money popularising the idea that household gun is useful for home defense, which it is - very occasionally - but nowhere near enough to compensate for the damage done when householders go out of their minds and shoot themselves or their nearest and dearest. In a culture where people think about guns a lot, the entertainment industry can make a lot money out of making films about guns being used - it piggy-backs on the gun-manufacturing industry advertising

Hollywood is chock-full of people who will exploit any opportunity to make money. By and large they aren't leftists, but they do hire a lot of people who are more left-wing than they are (which isn't all that left-wing). -- Bill Sloman, Sydney

The US entertainment industry is productive. The Indian entertainment industry is even more productive, but Bollywood is an acquired taste, and while it has more customers, they don't pay as much for their tickets. https://www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2014/09/03/bollywood-indias-film-industry-by-the-numbers-infographic/?sh=2d87d6e62488 There's always a market for nonsense that appeals to a particular audience. John Doe and Cursitor Doom get their "news" from organisations that put together conspiracy theories that are absurd enough to appeal to them, though much too fatuous for main-stream audiences. -- Bill Sloman, Sydney

Flyguy is an undiscriminating right-winger. He thinks that any body who is more leftwing than he is - anybody sane - is a communist. He can't tell the difference between a democratic socialist and a totalitarian communist - they all have to believe the central control of the means of production - which even the Chinese Communists have given up on as impractical. It is bizarre. He is remarkably stupid, but such an absurd reaction of reality is more deluded than demented. -- Bill Sloman, Sydney

Bozo Bill, a non-American America-bashing chronic liar, cannot be reasoned
with. When you refute its lies, it simply makes up more lies to cover its
prior lies. Its fiction never ends...
