LCD "controller" delays

How much state do LCD controllers (as in: "those used in monitors") contain?

E.g., does the scaler just rely on a single row (or two)?

Said another way, what's the delay from input connector (of the monitor)
to "visual output" likely to be?  And, how much is it likely to vary from
model to model, screen geometry to screen geometry, etc.?

I expect a place to look for data on that stuff would be sites for hardcore gamers/professional video game players

Great tip! I managed to find a guy who's built a database of this sort of information (along with other details that I don't necessarily need). Thanks!
