I think it was Groucho Marx who, when asked "How would you like to die?", replied "Shot by a jealous husband at a hundred and two." What's interesting is how most of the news links are to non-US sources. This is NOT going to help the IPCC. -- John Larkin Highland Technology, Inc picosecond timing precision measurement jlarkin att highlandtechnology dott com http://www.highlandtechnology.com

It's mainly Indian news.

IPCC should be impervious to allegations of indiscretion of one of the staff.

And European.

But the world doesn't work that way. IPCC is more a political organization than a scientific one, so they have to play the game that they signed up for. -- John Larkin Highland Technology, Inc picosecond timing precision measurement jlarkin att highlandtechnology dott com http://www.highlandtechnology.com

Which would be why Rajendra Pachauri was set up, if he was set up. The denialist propaganda machine doesn't play nicely. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merchants_of_Doubt starts off with the story of an IPCC scientist whose life was severely complicated by denialist antics. John Larkin probably thinks of Climategate - the theft and publication of private e-mails by denialist hackers - as a revelation of climate science perfidity, despite the fact that several enquiries decided that no perfidity had been revealed. -- Bill Sloman, Sydney
