It's hard to imagine any technology relying on poppet valves, cranks, dynamic seals
and other nonsense lasting more than 160 years.

A progressive carbon fuel tax would be preferable according to Milton Friedman but
if a complete ban is more politically correct, then that'll be what happens.

That would reduce the planet's average temperature some small fraction of a millikelvin. And bring down California's power grid. The car dealers in Nevada will love it. They can lease us the cars we want. I guess we should save all that oil and gas and coal for the coming ice age. -- John Larkin Highland Technology, Inc picosecond timing precision measurement jlarkin att highlandtechnology dott com http://www.highlandtechnology.com

As Madison pointed out the solution to the interstate collectivizing costs / privatizing profits scam is nat'l economic policy, Art. I, Sec. 8. A large state like California has options but it cannot do everything alone, just R&D. Even the U. S. cannot do it alone.

Then we will be buying our solar cells from Germany and wind turbines from China.

Seems to have worked awfully well. But it's no longer "simple as that"... find me ANY modern day car that doesn't run on a microprocessor?

Californicans are a strange breed... they'll never know the end is coming until it happens. Then they'll beg for a bail-out. ...Jim Thompson -- | James E.Thompson | mens | | Analog Innovations | et | | Analog/Mixed-Signal ASIC's and Discrete Systems | manus | | STV, Queen Creek, AZ 85142 Skype: skypeanalog | | | Voice:(480)460-2350 Fax: Available upon request | Brass Rat | | E-mail Icon at http://www.analog-innovations.com | 1962 | California is a truly beautiful state. Too bad it's been so thoroughly fucked over by liberals.
