If you're saying what I think you're saying, the lawyers
for the lineman who gets knocked off the pole when
he contacts your backfeed may take exception with your setup.
That you really meant to switch off the breaker or
That the breaker actually works
is of little consequence to the dead lineman.
Depending on where you live, there may be codes specifically
prohibiting this.
But maybe you're not really doing what it seems you're saying.
In that case, never mind.

That's fair Jon, but you are using the truck motor as a generator,
and you don't want to take your battery down to where it won't
start the engine.
I'm not sure if a plain old Voltmeter will give you the requirement
to restart.

on to my truck battery. Then I'm running an extension cord through the wall
