Ii have a mitutoyo electronic caliper that is now obsolete and the curcuit board seems to be shorted out. Anyone have experience with how to trouble shoot this problem. It used to power up but only read in metric now it just stopped working all together.. the rest of the caliper is perfect condition. Cant just discard it?

I might use an LED+mosfet type SSR to switch a voltage divider at the input of an isolated ADC. The ON resistance of the switch is an error...

I might use an LED+mosfet type SSR to switch a voltage divider at the input of an isolated ADC. The ON resistance of the switch is an error contributor, and a super-low Ron is expensive. 1 or 2 ohms is affordable. I'm thinking that driving the LED side from the proper Thevenin source might temperature compensate the ON resistance of the mosfets. Or even program the LED supply with a DAC....

LT spice strangeness

If I set up a BV with equation V=int(TIME) I expect a clean step of one volt every second. That's not what happens. Steps are slopey...

If I set up a BV with equation V=int(TIME) I expect a clean step of one volt every second. That's not what happens. Steps are slopey and strange. I have to declare a max time step of about 100 us to clean it up, which is a nuisance since I'm running for 500 seconds. Actually, I'm not simulating a circuit, just using some BV's to plot some equations. But still.
