I've been asked to add 2 USB power outputs to a product to allow
ipods, phones, cameras etc to be charged.
Sounds easy. USB specs 5V, 500mA max per output. So the obvious
solution is a 5V 1A regulator driving 2 USB connectors in parallel.
But is it that easy? Do USB peripherals need to talk ...Reverse IDE to USB adaptor?

Toying with the idea of replacing an HD with a usb stick, to reduce power
usage, weight, heat, size, etcetera.
There are lost of adaptors that let you plug a drive into a usb port; is
there an adaptor that does the reverse? The board in question (Series 1
Tivo) has no USB port, just an IDE...Need pointers on USB connectors

Can someone point me to an online store where I can get male and female
regular size USB connectors. I am extending a USB cable to a custom length.
Everyone seems to be selling ready made cables with molded plastic
connectors.

I built myself a tiny board with a PIC 18F2455.
I use MpLab with a PicStart+.
I can Tx/Rx thru RS232 but the USB won't work.
can't communicate w/ PC even for a HID test.
Can you point me to some C sample code that
is 18F2455 compatible, so I can use its USB ?

My daughter said the thumb drives wouldn't work on the computer ( Both work
on another computer). This morning neither USB printer is working. So far
the keyboard and mouse are working (both USB). Running XP SP 2.

I am trying to build a USB sound card and trying to finalize the
specs. It will have USB to I2S converter (part of PCM2706) connected
to DAC. Since PCM2706 is only doing USB to I2S format conversion,

Hello All,
The hard drive in my wife's laptop seems to be on its last leg. Motor
spools up to less than half the rpm and stays there (pretty constantly).
After an hour of warm-up a power cycle usually brings it to life at full
