I have an extra pin; the R/W pin of the LCD is tied low so output always
works - but I could use that pin to control the line.

After trying Google, McMaster, and lots of others: Is there a
see-through (thin) mesh that can be fastened to the back of a steel
panel using conductive epoxy around the perimeter? Preferably something
that can't rust.

I'm puzzling over my own HD44780 library for Luminary ARM. I ported the
code from a working library I use with AVR.
I see some activity with the oscilloscope and the signals seems ok. The

temperature of -60F. We are currently using an LCD but is storage
temperature is limited to -30C.

However, a long screen (12"x1") for reasonable resolutions will
require custom layouts with 2 to 3 chips.

Target module dimensions are 45mm x 35mm (max)
Don't care too much about exact resolution.
Does such a thing exist that's relatively easy to get?

Can't help myself. Just figured out how to clean LCD displays. Use a
dry microfiber cloth. Removes dirt and dust with ease. Also removes
oily fingerprints that idiot coworkers love to leave behind after

I have a Data Image FG020511ANSWA01 LCD panel, which was recovered from a

What are the typical configuration and pin-outs of such LCDs ?

yes, but are they ever expensive right now. US$4500 for a six inch
starter kit. Right now too big and contrast is not what it might
