I just called the mfger (Pogo), and they want $20 for the battery, sales
tax, and $8.00 for shipping from S. Calif. to here in N. Calif. I'm not
happy about the shipping costs nor have I been happy about the battery from
day one. I think it was defective but their readout on the radio was
difficult to read. I've had the radio for 2 years.

Is there another place I can buy the battery? They seem to think not.

Spec shows 3v, LR03, tow(?) alkaline battery ('AAA' size or UM-4)/NiMH
1.2x2. I think that may be for the general series. More likely I need
3.7v/1000mA, Li-polymer, rechargeable.
