Can anyone tell me if there is a standard for WiFi antenna
plugs/contacts? For instance, Apple laptops have the so-called
Airport card, which has a miniature BNC-like adapter. I wish
to know what kind of contacts WiFi antennas typically use,
and with luck, maybe someone even knows impedence value?

Thanks bunches!

I've seen SMA, RP-SMA, MCX (MCX is the one used on Airport cards, IIRC),
MMCX and RP-TNC. RP-SMA seems to be most popular, but it's far from
universal. There are probably more I've not encountered.

Have a look at the pigtails available from somewhere which sells WiFi
antennas.

Thanks bunches Tim. That is enough to get me going. Any idea about
impedence values?

Not enough of an idea to be very useful I'm afraid :) Sometimes the
connector type will tell you - SMA is always 50 ohms, for example. Cable
type might give you a clue, if you have an actual antenna in hand. Other
than that, I think you're looking for data from the manufacturers.
