Swapped out a 12V module at 4V. Two banks are probably dead. Nobody notice me at Walmart. Back to business. To borrow Musk's philosophy, failure is just an experiment.

Did it twice just to be sure. I use CHPT RFID card on the CHPT charger, but the session showed up on my EVGO account. There is no way for CHPT to have my EVGO account and debit card info. The debit card is not in use anywhere else. Unless the station is scanning all my RFID cards in the key ring and pick only the EVGO card for billing but CHPT card for control on/off.

I just don't feel like spending $30K to $40K for cars, when a 5K to 10K EV would do.

I can *drive* 100 miles for less than that. At $6/gallon. And, I don't have to coordinate with a tow company (who may be busy at that moment). AND... I drive a 4000 pound ICE. So, I guess an ICE is more economical?

Then find an alternative means of travel for those trips. I only "need" a plane to get to Chitown or Beantown.

Well, AAA+ is like public transport for EV, and very reasonable (read the stalled EV thread). You can't beat $25 for moving the car 100 miles. I only need it going into Vegas and getting out of LA. I can always do infinte one way loop of SF-LA-LV without problem.

Similarly, I don't keep a "truck" for the few times each year that I might need one. Borrow from a friend, have THEM drive you, or rent and I can solve my infrequent hauling problems without having to commit to the hassle of owning/maintaining another vehicle.

I only travel to other states a few times per year. I let a commercial airline get me there, most times. Because driving is not worth the time nor *risk* (accidents, breakdowns, weather events, etc.) [Vegas or SoCal are worth the drive as I have other activities that I can take in when I've got "wheels". But, see below...] Rent a car if you need to go any significant distance. Fuel will be available at damn near every corner. AND, if it breaks down, you call the rental company: "YOUR car is broken. Come get/fix it!"

But i only do long distance few times per year and I got plan B (AAA+) and C (GG). Local charging/driving within the bay area is fine. AAA+: 4x100miles towing GG: Gasoline Generator
